Trace of time | Solo exhibition of Fanny Chan

Updated: Oct 1, 2021

The shape and texture of stones change over time via weathering; water, ice, acids, salts, plants, animals and temperature changes are all agents of such changes. Hong Kong ceramic artist Fanny Chan uses this as a metaphor to express her thoughts about life changes, as well as all the injuring and healing processes that may happen in one’s life. By repeating the procedures of carving and inlining, the artist looked back into her past, recovered from her wounds and finally was able to present her works in a peaceful state.
